Cosmetic tattooing, also referred to as semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hairstroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present.

It always depends on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and ultimate desired results The average time frame before a touch up is recommended is about 1.5 years. The more often touch ups are applied the longer it will last in between touch ups.

Eyebrows: The procedure for eyebrows can take up to 1h-1h 15 mins.

Eyeliner: The procedure for eyeliner can take up to 1h-1h 30 mins.

Lips: The procedure for lips can take up to 1h-1h 30 mins.

Please allow an extra 15 min. after the procedure is finished before leaving.

Two sessions are needed 6 weeks apart. To achieve a perfect and natural end result without compromising the skin, more sessions are highly recommended. Keeping the integrity of the skin is very important. The skin on our face is very delicate and needs to be treated with care.

There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. Semi-Permanent Makeup is not suitable for the following candidates:

  • Have heart conditions or using heart medications
  • Have diabetes (will require a physician’s note)
  • Hepatitis or HIV
  • Have skin disease or irritations
  • Have had Botox in the last 2 weeks
  • Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peels in the last 2 weeks
  • Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine
  • Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician’s note.

No, not for at least one week to keep the treated area dry and reduce the risk of complications or infection and to retain the maximum amount of pigment implanted. Makeup can be applied everywhere else but NOT on the brows for at least one week after the treatment.

In order to achieve the best results, the procedure is meant to be completed in two sessions. The first lays out the foundation of the brow and the touchup adds more fullness while addressing any color correction or sparse spots.

The touchup is performed 4-8 weeks after the first appointment. ​ Depending on each individuals skin type, etc. you may not require a touchup or you may require multiple touchups.

With Microblading, touchups are recommended every six months to a year, to keep the integrity of the shape, the color fresh and the strokes crisp.

With Powder Ombré, touchups are recommended every 1-3 years depending on each person’s skin type and how well their skin holds onto the color.

Amor Beauty Bar uses iron oxide pigments. These pigments fade over time as your body will naturally absorb it. They are considered the safest semi-permanent pigments to use for skin.
